I think this picture captures a lot of important elements that reflect the history and reality of war that is often hidden from the general public. The victim was very young. Notice how the people in the picture seem to have barely noticed or cared about what had just happened. This picture is meant to disturb us, and should not be concealed or hidden, otherwise we may continue to live in a comfortable world of denial and illusion. Those appear to be British troops but the truck is American - do we know the units involved here? Drutt 11:56, 22 August 2007 (UTC)

This picture should not be the picture of the day. A lot of people might find it too violent and gory for their tastes. It is a pretty good picture. But, in light of all the atrocities going on, something like this reminding us of war should not be posted for everyone to see. Let me make sure I understand this argument: because atrocities are going on the world, we should not be aware of violence unless we wish to be. Interesting... - BanyanTree 05:14, 27 November 2007 (UTC)

The dead 'boy' appears to have a wedding ring, and remains of webbing or a pack across his shoulders. British and Commonwealth forces, and organised 'free' forces, all used the white star as an identifying emblem, and used vast numbers of U.S.-produced vehicles and equipments; given the location, it's likely that the truck is British Army.

A telling portrait of the costs of war. -Perhaps a surprising image to choose to illustate a V2 attack, though; these were characterised by massive blast damage (cratering, demolition of buildings, 'throwing' of motor-vehicles). —Preceding unsigned comment added by Marmoset253 (talk • contribs) 22:03, 29 November 2007 (UTC)
