Vännäs is a town (pop. 4,000) in Västerbotten, Sweden and the seat of Vännäs Municipality, Västerbotten County.
Vännäs is the hometown of the hardcore-band Refused, with singer Dennis Lyxéns family still living in Kolksele 1 mil (6 miles) from Vännäs köping. Other famous Vännäs locals are Sverker Olofsson; host of popular TV-show Plus, David Jakobsson, also known as Rambomannen, world famous gangster, and founding member of the global organized crime corporation Vännäs Locos.
