I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Though we all make goofy mistakes, here is what Wikipedia is not. If you have any questions or concerns, don't hesitate to see the help pages or add a question to the village pump. The Community Portal can also be very useful.

Happy editing!

[edit] myanmar list

I have moved Wikipedians/Myanmar to Wikipedia:Wikipedians Myanmar. Please note Wikipedia:Wikipedians which requests the use of categories rather than lists and that Category:Wikipedians in Myanmar already exists. -- RHaworth 12:03, 2 January 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Image copyright problem with Image:Adoniram_judson.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Adoniram_judson.jpg. However, the image may soon be deleted unless we can determine the copyright holder and copyright status. The Wikimedia Foundation is very careful about the images included in Wikipedia because of copyright law (see Wikipedia's Copyright policy).

The copyright holder is usually the creator, the creator's employer, or the last person who was transferred ownership rights. Copyright information on images on Wikipedia is signified using copyright templates. The three basic license types on Wikipedia are open content, public domain, and fair use. Find the appropriate template in Wikipedia:Image copyright tags and place it on the image page like this: {{TemplateName}}.

Please signify the copyright information on any other images you have uploaded or will upload. Remember that images without this important information can be deleted by an administrator. You can get help on image copyright tagging from Wikipedia talk:Image copyright tags. --OrphanBot 07:03, 19 January 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Image copyright

I uploaded http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:Adoniram_judson.jpg which is more than 100 years ago. If it is not violating copy right, please do not delete this image.

I still don't know how to change image type.

By the way, how to become experience editors eg. Do i need to participate more edition, creation? Do i need to get acknowledge from other experienced editors? Pls, show me where to see the editor category information. Is it here? [8]

Thank you. Uzawaung 10:08, 20 January 2006 (UTC)

I've re-classified the image as public domain. Since the subject of the image died in 1850, it's almost certain that the image was published before 1923, so it's in the public domain. You can change the copyright tag on an image by editing the image description page and replacing the "{{Don't know}}" with an appropriate tag from Wikipedia:Image copyright tags. --Carnildo 05:25, 21 January 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Barnstar for you

I award you this Barnstar of National Merit for improving many of our articles about Burma. I just ran into your article on Burmese Buddhism, and while I had to improve the grammar, the content is great.

Keep up the good work! :) Ashibaka tock 17:41, 23 January 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Thank you

Thanks for the kind words; may God bless you and all you do for Christ's Kingdom! KHM03 11:28, 27 January 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Image Tagging Image:Kyaw kyaw naing.JPG

Warning sign
This media may be deleted.

Thanks for uploading Image:Kyaw kyaw naing.JPG. I notice the 'image' page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you have not created this media yourself then there needs to be an argument why we have the right to use the media on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the media yourself then it needs to be specified where it was found, i.e., in most cases link to the website where it was taken from, and the terms of use for content from that page.

If the media also doesn't have a copyright tag then one should be added. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media qualifies as fair use, consider reading fair use, and then use a tag such as {{Non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other media, consider checking that you have specified their source and copyright tagged them, too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any unsourced and untagged images will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. 82.83.96.38 13:12, 19 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Pyinmana v.s. Naypyidaw

Although I personally like the fact that Naypyidaw even exists, it is a city near Pyinmana (about 2 mi away), and therefore the two cities are totally separate. And, I believe it would be misleading to use Pyinmana in place of Naypyidaw, since the government did move the national capital to Naypyidaw (or as they call it, Nay Pyi Taw). [edit] License tagging for Image:Judson burma.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Judson burma.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 15:10, 22 May 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Non-free use disputed for Image:Ritlogo.jpg

Warning sign This file may be deleted.

Thanks for uploading Image:Ritlogo.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read carefully the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content and then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our Criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 04:59, 6 June 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Unspecified source for Image:Myanmar_thanaka.JPG

Thanks for uploading Image:Myanmar_thanaka.JPG. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, then you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, then their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 14:01, 17 January 2008 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Calliopejen1 (talk) 14:01, 17 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Image copyright problem with Image:IMG Judson Singapore.jpg

Image Copyright problem

Hi Uzawaung!
We thank you for uploading Image:IMG Judson Singapore.jpg, but there is a problem. Your image is currently missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. Unless you can help by adding a copyright tag, it may be deleted by an Administrator. If you know this information, then we urge you to add a copyright tag to the image description page. We apologize for this, but all images must confirm to policy on Wikipedia.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks so much for your cooperation.
