[edit] Rewording of template
I think it would be useful to discuss the re-wording of this template to a) soften the tone and b) refer people to the appropriate re-creation channel, Wikipedia:Undeletion. I recently used this template and felt compelled to add an extension to soften the blow and direct the person to the right place to take action ... see http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=User_talk:Qussain&oldid=94513469. --User:Ceyockey (talk to me) 14:55, 15 December 2006 (UTC)
- Agreed. I've been using this template for months, but just recently got warned about violating WP:BITE for using it. In any case, I have a copy of the old template at User:Danny Lilithborne/recreated Danny Lilithborne 03:32, 23 December 2006 (UTC)
- Agreed. Threatening people (esp. new users) with a ban is unlikely to endear them to WP. jdb ❋ (talk) 00:44, 31 January 2007 (UTC)
- Agreed - but an escalation template would be in order. Fact is, if you keep recreating deleted pages the administrators will block you. abrupt or not, the template is correct.--Crossmr 14:43, 31 January 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Not suitable for speedy deletions?
I noticed a user re-posting a nonsense article that got speedily deleted, so I put this template on the user's talk page. Its reference to "deletion review", however, suggests that this template should only be used for reposted articles that were deleted as a result of an AfD decision. -Amatulic 16:40, 31 January 2007 (UTC)
- Wikipedia:Deletion review indicates that WP:DR considers disputed deletions and disputed decisions made in deletion-related discussions and speedy deletions. Therefore, use of this template for speedy deletions seems appropriate. Accurizer (talk) 03:24, 27 November 2007 (UTC)
