Uthayan

Uthayan is a Tamil newspaper published in Jaffna, Sri Lanka. It was founded in 1985 and has been the lone voice of the people of the Jaffna since 1996 has been the only publication which has not ceased publication due to the Sri Lankan Civil War.The newspaper has been attacked several times particularly last year and journalists and other staff were killed by Anti Ltte Paramilitary and security forces which is trying enforce unofficial censorship on the Tamil media [1] [2] The attack and killing of Uthayan staff has been condemned worldwide by journalists,media organisations and Human Rights groups. Uthayan is a one of the main tamil news paper in sri lanka, mostly they are distibuted their newspaper in jaffna, also they have a main office in jaffna
