State Route 51 is a short highway completely within Utah County in northern Utah that connects SR-137 to US-89. The highway runs for three miles.

From its southern terminus in Spanish Fork, the route goes northeast until its junction with 1600 South, where it heads north until its northern terminus, which has one of the oldest grade-separated intersections in Utah.[3]

[edit] Previous route
When it was first formed in 1915, SR-51 ran from SR-3—now SR-30—to the Wyoming border. It maintained this designation until its deletion in 1975, where it was annexed by SR-30.[2]

The current designation was formed in 1992, running from SR-147 to US-89, the current path of the highway.[2]
