[edit] Route description
From its southern terminus at the junction of SR-274, SR-271 runs northwest, bordering the southeast side of the Parowan Airport. It turns north once it reaches 200 South in Paragonah. It continues in this direction until ending at I-15.
[edit] History
[edit] Previous route
When the first version of SR-271 was formed in 1964, it ran from Draper Crossroads—now the junction of I-15 and SR-71—to the Becks Interchange, now the intersection of I-15 and US-89. In fact, before its deletion in 1977, SR-271 ran the route that US-89 runs on in Salt Lake County today.[2]
[edit] Current route
The current route was formed the same year old SR-271 was deleted, gaining and maintaining the current route designation.[2]
