[edit] Route description

SR-22 begins in Antimony as a continuation of John's Valley Road and heads generally north through a canyon to Otter Creek Reservoir, where it ends at an intersection with SR-62.[1]

[edit] History

SR-22 was commissioned in 1914, running from Widtsoe to Coyote, now called Antimony. In 1915, it was extended north to Junction. In 1923, it was extended south to Tropic Junction. In 1953, the termini were defined as SR-12 near Tropic and the current route of US-89 two miles south of Junction. In 1967, the section from the current northern terminus to the current US-89 was transferred to SR-62. In 1969, the section from SR-12 to the current southern terminus was decommissioned.[2]
