This was the original page text. I am currently unable to verify the "early history" description...
- Ustica Island just north of Palermo: What is it's early history? I understand thousands of revolting North African soldiers were put ashore at this small island to die there without food and water -supposedly about 250 b.c. during the 2nd (?) Punic War.
