USS Chief (MCM-14) is an Avenger-class mine countermeasures ship in the United States Navy. She was named for Chief Petty Officers.
She was built by Peterson Shipbuilders, Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin. Avenger is homeported in Ingleside, Texas and is part of the U.S. Atlantic Fleet.
