USPRO National Championships is the name given by USA Cycling, the United States national governing body of cycling, for a series of national championships.
[edit] USPRO National Road Championships
The 2006 USPRO Road Race Championships was held September 2 and consisted solely of riders from the United States with valid UCI racing licenses. The winner becomes the "United States National Road Race Champion" and have the right to wear the national champion's jersey.
Prior to the 2006 race, the first rider from the United States that crosses the finish line was considered the "United States National Road Race Champion" and had the right to wear the national champion's jersey.
Held in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania since its inaugural year, USA Cycling announced in November 2005 that the event will move to Greenville, South Carolina and serve for the next three years as host to the USPRO National Road Championships and the inaugural USPRO National Time Trial Championships. The race in Philadelphia is now known as the Philadelphia International Championship, and remains open to international riders.

[edit] USPRO National Time Trial Championships
The first USPRO Time Trial Championship was held on August 31, 2006 in Greenville, South Carolina. Prior to 2006, the winner of the United States Cycling Federation (former name of USA Cycling) elite men's national individual time trial championship served as the United States national time trial champion.[1]
This event is exclusively reserved for riders from the United States with a valid UCI racing license and is won by the rider with the fastest time over the 32.3 km course (20.1 miles). The winner will be considered the "United States National Time Trial Champion" and have the right to wear the national champion's jersey.
