Coordinates: Usilampatti (Tamil: உசிலம்பட்டி) is a city and a municipality in Madurai district in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu. It is one of the comparatively rich cities in India. It has a very active business district and an excellent school district. It is also notoriously famous for some violent caste clashes. It was very famous for clay pot materials, confectionery and sweets. Even though this place is used to be mentioned for violence, it is highly rich with hospitality, brotherhood, customs and heritage. This taluk limit has many number of famous hindu worship places like Thidian, Sindhupatti, Sadhuragiri hill etc.. Also jallikkattu used to be conducted in Doddappanayakkanoor.(One of the famous JAMIN during Mannar Thirumalai Nayakkar rule in Maudrai).
