Editing Guidelines |
Please remember these guidelines when editing a film article:
- If a non-film article already exists with the name of the film that you are trying to create an article for, disambiguate and use (film) in the title: Film Title (film)
- When writing an article about a particular film, the general format should be a concise lead section, followed by a plot summary of no more than 900 words, production details, a cast list, a reception section, and references.
- Create an Infobox that tells all pertinent information about the film.

Stub to Start-Class Upgrading Instructions for Films
- Note that instructions for articles on other types of film topics within the scope of WikiProject Films are currently under development.
To contribute in upgrading this stub article to Start class, the following requirements must be met:
- Significant intro (list the title, alternate titles, year released, director, actors starring in the film, summary of headings, etc.)
- Film infobox ({{infobox film}})
- Picture: Consult WikiProject Free Images for freely released images from a film shoot, opening, or other relevant free image. Non-free and unlicensed images are to be avoided if at all possible, but if used should include a detailed fair use rationale. (An image is not required for start class if unavailable.)
- Plot summary
- Include cast and crew information.
- At least two other developed sections of information (production, reception (including box office figures), awards and honors, themes, differences from novel or TV show, soundtrack, sequels, DVD release, etc.)
- Categories (by year, country, language, and genre(s))
Helpful links: WP:BETTER, WP:LEAD, WP:REF, WP:WAF
Once this article has fulfilled these requirements, the film can be reassessed to Start class and this template will be removed automatically.

What are the Ushpizin apart from Sukkoth? What is Sukkoth without the Ushpizim? If they don't have a group existence separate from Sukkoth, they would gain context as a redirect to Sukkoth, with all this text included there. --Wetman 2 July 2005 21:29 (UTC)
I suggest we pick a title and stick to it. I personally prefer two Zs so we can have "The Geusts" be a separate article, and use the approprite form of {{otheruses}} to disambiguate the two.--HereToHelp (talk • contribs) 21:33, 1 February 2006 (UTC)
merge with ushpizzin. However, we should not merge with Sukkoth.Akerensky99 20:32, 2 February 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Redirrect both to Sukkot
REDIRECT both articles to sukkot. Both article are stubs, but don't see any way for either to be expanded beyond what is already in the article sukkot. In fact, User:HereToHelp made ushpizzin by coping from sukkot. I assume that (s)he indended the page to be expand, but I don't see anywhere it can go. the only thing that the page adds is "In recent times, the list of "guests" has been expanded by some to include the Matriarchs:" which I am not such a fan of for many reasons: Wikipedia:Avoid weasel words, and Wikipedia:Citing sources and Wikipedia:Verifiability Jon513 21:16, 2 February 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Info about this article
General information for my fellow Wikipedians, who might wonder what the above comments are talking about:
Until 22 Oct 2006, this article was titled "The Guests", and the "Ushpizin" article was a redirect page. Following some discussion (see Talk:The Guests) we chose to change things, and now the "Ushpizin" article is about the movie, and it also has a disambig notice at the very top, where people can click for more info about the Sukkot holiday. --Keeves 12:08, 23 October 2006 (UTC)
