Can I ask the fair-use images are removed since they break WP policy. I may get round to removing myself otherwise (and they probably won't look too good) Ian13ID:540053 13:34, 2 January 2006 (UTC)

They certainly don't look good. Are we sure that college crests are taboo here? Doesnt the {{coatofarms}} licence designation cover them? Please explain to us clueless lusers. Can a ipr lawyer please advise? Thruston 23:46, 11 January 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Not sure how to create template

Added one for Magdalen, but not sure how to make it a template. Any tips? Miles underwood 17:02, 28 May 2006 (UTC)

Type "Template:user oxon magd" in search window and click "Go". Click on create article. Open the templates page in another window and start to edit it. Copy the content of the template to the new Template edit window and after previewing to check it is OK, save it. Then edit the templates article to transclude in the template. I've done it for you. Look at what I did. --Bduke 23:48, 28 May 2006 (UTC)

I think we need one for "studied at Wadham...", on the same model as "studies at Wadham..." - can someone help please? Thank you! --ukexpat 20:06, 26 April 2007 (UTC)

Done - {{user wadham oxon alumnus}} - didn't fancy moving/renaming the existing template to {{user wadham oxon current}} to make room for it, though! Bencherlite 21:38, 26 April 2007 (UTC)

[edit] added user oxon oriel current template!

Just as the title says, really - a template for current Oriel students Feel free to subst it and rework it (you may not want the image, so you could put back the usual 2 letter code "OC", for instance). Have fun. -- (James McNally)  (talkpage)  11:11, 15 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Wikipedia:Userboxes/Education/United Kingdom/University of Oxford

I have several concerns with the edits to Oxford College useboxes that have been made recently:-

  1. All except Oriel are fair use images which can not be used on user pages. I am not certain whether the justification for the Oriel crest being fair use is correct.
  2. The use of terms such as "Balliolian" are not really standard, and I do not think there is consensus to replace terms such as "studied at Balliol College", "belongs to Balliol College" or "graduated from Balliol College" with that term.
  3. Two of the earlier templates have been deleted, when there is no consensus to change them.

I am tempted to revert right back and restore the former Oriel and Pembroke userboes, but I'll leave them for comment here, particularly from User:Pizza1512 who made all but one of the recent changes. --Bduke 22:30, 19 August 2007 (UTC)

Since someone else has reverted all those changes, I have restored the old templates for Oriel and Pembroke. However, I think all of these should be userfied. --Bduke 23:16, 19 August 2007 (UTC)
