[edit] About the Users Advice Bureau
The Users Advice Bureau (UAB) is a project dedicated to making the lives of Wikipedian Editors easier. We help users with questions about the way wikipedia works; how to write an article, why policy exists, and a lot more, by giving advice or directing them to the appropriate section. While the wikipedian welcoming section gives detailed advice on how to start a user's journey in the world of Wikipedia, new (and experienced) users can sometimes get lost or become confused. We are here to help.
[edit] The Users Advice Bureau's goals
Our goal at the Users Advice Bureau is to give users a friendly, informative place to ask any question relating to Wikipedia and its ever growing community. By assisting other users in this way, we will help to strengthen Wikipedia.
[edit] Community
In giving adivice about community matters, we aim to help editors in their queries about how a wikipedian should behave, how they should interact with other users, what actions should be taken as a wikipedian, and how to help this community. This page also links with other important community based pages.
[edit] Policy
Our advice on matters of policy ranges on what policies are in place on Wikipedia, to creating new policies, to aiding disputes about policy and guidelines. Because policy can be very technical, this section aims to help users who are confused or have any queries about why policy is there, and what it does.
[edit] Articles
This section is dedicated to aiding users by giving them advice on how to create articles, write them, and maintain a high level of writing standard. In addition to this, the articles section will offer advice on how to upload images, what writing articles is not, and how to deal with articles that should not be on Wikipedia.
[edit] Members
Our members are always very happy to help you with any question that you may have.
Anyone who wants to became a member of the Users Advice Bureau will first need to meet the requirements. Then, we ask that you place your name here, and try to follow the goals of the UAB.
[edit] Leadership
The current leadership of the UAB is made up of leaders of the individual sections. The current leadership is as follows:
- Policy: Joint between The Halo (talk) and Sergeant Snopake (talk)
- Article: Sergeant Snopake (talk)
[edit] Discussion
