[edit] KJHK
Thanks for your help with the KJHK article. If your interests lie in Lawrence, KS let me know. I'm a KU student and I try to work on connected topics. So, if you ever need help with anything, let me know. Happy editing. CharacterZero 00:13, 6 April 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Resolved questions
I just made a bunch of edits to KJHK. I'm pretty pleased with the final result. But along the way, I basically made a bunch of minor edits, saving the page as I went so I wouldn't lose my work, or worry about having to merge the page with someone else's changes. Any way I can consolidate those edits on the history page, to clean it up a bit?
- Nope, there's no way, but don't worry about it. Next time, just use the preview button or write the content in notepad, but it's no big deal either way. Welcome to Wikipedia. :) GfloresTalk 04:23, 6 April 2006 (UTC)
A couple IPs were recorded vandalising Jem (TV series). I'd like to send the "thanks for trying out wikipedia" message to them, but I'm not sure what that template is, or generally how to search for templates.
Both IPs can be seen here.
- To answer your first question, just add {{subst:test1}} to the vandals' talk pages. --Pilot|guy 21:02, 19 June 2006 (UTC)
- Here is the complete list of warning templates. You can also use a progrm like popups to make reverting vandalism easier. See the Counter vandalism unit's page. --Pilot|guy 21:05, 19 June 2006 (UTC)
- Also see: Wikipedia:Administrator intervention against vandalism Thomas B 19:05, 30 November 2006 (UTC)
Also, is there a way to revert an article without simply deleting the additions like a normal edit? If so, do you make reversions from the edit page or the history page?
- See Help:Reverting Thomas B 08:13, 9 July 2006 (UTC) (me!)
There seems to be an edit battle going on over the USC disambig page. A neutral third party who knows more about wikipedia procedure might want to take a look. Thomas B 08:15, 9 July 2006 (UTC)
- As a third party, I completely agree with the way the page is after your last edit (this version). You could bring it up on the talk page of Wikipedia:Manual of Style (disambiguation pages), but hopefully the users will read that guideline and understand.--Commander Keane 08:22, 9 July 2006 (UTC)
How do I do section linking? Thomas B 23:20, 20 July 2006 (UTC)
When someone posts a response on my page, I wish I knew the best way to thank them without cluttering up their talk page. Thank you to everyone who's helped me here, the help as always been very high quality. I am really grateful.
How do I internally link to a specific version of a page?
- Don't worry too much about cluttering up a talk page, the user can just archive old discussions as they see fit. As for linking specific versions, make it an external link like this.
[edit] Newish Questions
Greetings: I have a question about the phrase in the UB artice (actually, a number), but to begin with, the statement that the UB claims the universe is older than current universe theories?Richiar 03:43, 13 December 2006 (UTC)
Urantia Book: OK. I wasn't being critical. I thought maybe I missed something. :)Richiar
[edit] Regarding reversions[1] made on January 4, 2007 to Republican Party (United States)
Please refrain from undoing other people's edits repeatedly. If you continue, you may be blocked from editing Wikipedia. Note that the three-revert rule prohibits making more than three reversions in a content dispute within a 24 hour period. Additionally, users who perform a large number of reversions in content disputes may be blocked for edit warring, even if they do not technically violate the three-revert rule. Rather than reverting, discuss disputed changes on the talk page. The revision you want is not going to be implemented by edit warring. Thank you. -Royalguard11(Talk·Desk·Review Me!) 00:51, 4 January 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Wambo
The article Wambo has been speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This was done because the article seemed to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it did not indicate how or why the subject is notable, that is, why an article about that subject should be included in Wikipedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert notability may be deleted at any time. If you can indicate why the subject is really notable, you are free to re-create the article, making sure to cite any verifiable sources.
Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, and for specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. NawlinWiki 02:10, 13 January 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Don't fix Redirects!
I just fixed a couple redirects on Clinton's page, now that I've read [Wikipedia:Redirect|the policy], I vow never to do so again. Apologies. Thomas B 16:52, 29 January 2007 (UTC)
[edit] C'est fou
Hey yourself, old friend! So, I'm working in Paris now with Fabrice Lorenceau, from Annenberg House. And did you know that one of our other Annenberg House residents, Brion Vibber, is one of Wikipedia's, like, 5 employees? Robert K S 09:45, 29 March 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Swiftfox
Hi Thomas B . Could you take a minute to see if the fixes I did to this article are OK. regards Widefox 09:07, 31 March 2007 (UTC)
[edit] KJHK
Just wanted to let you know I made some changes on KJHK as part of the WikiProject Kansas.
[edit] The IT Crowd on tviv.org
If anyone's into cross-wiki work, I'm trying to harmonize pronounciation on tviv's IT Crowd Article with wikipedia's, The IT Crowd. Could use another set of eyballs looking at the dispute over there. --Thomas B 00:30, 13 September 2007 (UTC)
- Resolved as of Oct. 8, 2007. --75.18.11.108 23:56, 8 October 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Vandalism to Justice as Fairness

- above reposted from User_talk:64.80.225.13
- Hello, you should report this to Wikipedia:Administrator intervention against vandalism if you wish a block. You might have to wait for them to vandalize a 2nd time. Regards. --12 Noon 22:52, 6 December 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Asking for help on WiKUpedia project
Hi User6985,
My name is Jarrod and I'm currently working on a project called WiKUpedia, with the goal of providing the one-stop shop for all things KU. We've had a tremendous response from the community since we went live on Sunday but we need help organizing and improving the wiki. We decided to reach out to experienced Wikipedia editors working on the WikiProject: Kansas. You can read a little more about our project in a news story in the Lawrence Journal World
Please feel free to take a look around our project and if this sounds like something that interests you, please respond on my talk page or by email. Thank you so much in advance. Jarrodm (talk) 04:45, 1 February 2008 (UTC)
- I'll take a look, thanks for the heads up! --Thomas B♘talk 17:03, 4 February 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Anasazi bean
This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Anasazi bean, and it appears to include a substantial copy of http://www.ellenskitchen.com/recipebox/beanspeas2.html. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material; such additions will be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences.
This message was placed automatically, and it is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article and it would be appreciated if you could drop a note on the maintainer's talk page. CorenSearchBot (talk) 20:24, 6 April 2008 (UTC)
