Template talk:User degree

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Okay, I guess this is popular enough for explanation to be in order. There are a number of parameters that can be invoked to describe the type of degree one holds. The proper text to use to place this template on your page is {{User degree}}. This will place the generic template

This user has an academic degree.

To use an optional parameter, include the proper name like so: {{User degree/BA}}. This will place the appropriate template

BA This user has a Bachelor of Arts degree.

The optional parameters are easy to guess, and can be edited with ease, in the case that your degree is not yet on the list. You may prefer to substitute the code that the template creates, like so: {{subst:User degree}}. So far, possible degrees include (at least):

JD, law degree, LLB, PhD, MS, MSc, AA, AS, PharmD, MD, OD, DDS, DC, DO, MA, MDiv, MEng, MMath, MStat, —Preceding unsigned comment added by Baccyak4H (talkcontribs) 19:24, 11 September 2007 (UTC) MBA, BS, BSc, BSBS, BE, BA, BBA, HND, BCS, 2 degrees, multiple univ degrees,

See also Wikipedia:Userboxes/Education.

I've split this template into multiple templates in order to conform to the avoid meta-templates policy. I've updated the necessary user pages, so hopefully nothing's been broken by the split. — Jeff | (talk) | 13:40, 20 January 2006 (UTC)
What about D.Phil? I know of at least one person with that degree. Guettarda 22:20, 2 February 2006 (UTC)
Feel free to add that to the list. Enjoy the wiki of it all. --Dschor 01:41, 3 February 2006 (UTC)
How do you add a degree to the list...?
