Template talk:User alma mater

I appreciate that there may have been some discussion about this elsewhere, but where is any link to it HERE? I only noticed after you messed up my user page, which I don't have a habit of admiring on a daily basis. Pterre (talk) 14:23, 9 March 2008 (UTC)
- This is a depreciated template in favor of User school. See the discussions on that template's talk page. - LA @ 14:30, 9 March 2008 (UTC)
- I appreciate that, but if THIS template (which has presumably been in use for quite a while by a number of people) is deprecated it should say so on THIS template's talk page. My point is that anyone who has never used User School (as discussed elsewhere, in the UK and Commonwealth the word School is not generally used for Higher Education colleges and universities) will not have been aware of that discussion. It should have been mentioned on this template's talk page before making a change that affects how it displays on user pages. Pterre (talk) 15:11, 9 March 2008 (UTC)
- Actually, User school was to replace ALL school user templates. I just didn't expect to see such a negative reaction to it. If you look at the history of this template, you can see that I created it in the first place. User school was built from this one. In my mind, all institutions of learning can be grouped under the word "school." - LA @ 19:36, 9 March 2008 (UTC)
