Use of the term "Indian" shows the creator of the template has no clue what he's talking about. -Harvestdancer 00:32, 22 January 2006 (UTC)
- Actually, funny thing is, Indians say "Indian." "Native American" is a legal term that includes non-Indian natives of the Americas who are US citizens (native Hawaiians, Innuit, etc.). Though it's just a short hand, generic for "citizen of a nation native to the Americas" in many ways. Identity is primarily tribal. As in which nation are we talking about. It's a complex isuse. Definitely a bland claim to have a couple of genes from some unidentified "Indian" ancestor is... well, let's say "uniformed." And pretty much meaningless. I have royal blood. For real. This does not make me the King of England. <g> Mark K. Bilbo 15:38, 30 January 2006 (UTC)
