This template places a small lock symbol in the upper-right corner of a tagged page.

This template should be used for pages that are semi-protected for longer periods (for brief semi-protection please use {{sprotected}}) or where the other semi-protection template may be untidy.

This template categorizes pages into Category:Semi-protected user and user talk pages.

Adding this template to an article does not protect it. Protection can only be applied by administrators, and can be requested at Wikipedia:Requests for page protection.
