Description
English: Aerial view of John C. Stennis Lock and Dam, formerly named Columbus Lock and Dam, on the Tombigbee River near Columbus, Lowndes County, Mississippi, USA. The dam impounds Columbus Lake. The lock and river are part of the Tennessee-Tombigbee Waterway. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers maintains the lock and waterway for barge navigation. Stennis Lock and Dam are one of a series of ten locks and dams on the waterway. View is upriver to the north-northwest.
