US Market Access Center
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The US Market Access Center (abbreviated as US MAC), located in San Jose, CA, is a business incubator and trade gateway into the United States for high-tech international companies. The US MAC specializes in US market entry for small to mid-sized, high-growth companies in the information and communications, clean technology, and the life sciences sectors planning to expand their marketing, sales and operations to the United States. The US MAC offers marketing and business consulting services as well as office space for its clients.
Founded in 1995 as the International Business Incubator (IBI), the organization initially only offered furnished office space and virtual office services to international high-tech companies looking to enter the United States. When consulting services was added to its portfolio in 2003, the company changed its name to US Market Access Center to reflect the new focus. The organization, along with the San Jose BioCenter, the San Jose Software Business Cluster, and the San Jose Environmental Business Cluster, is a part of the San Jose Redevelopment Agency Incubation Program.[1]
In 2006, the US Market Access Center was named a Soft Landing International Incubator by the National Business Incubation Association (NBIA).[2]
As previously stated, the US MAC offers US home office space, as well as virtual office services. The consulting services available include market assessments, market strategy reports, and customer acquisition services. Currently, the US Market Access Center is working with over 50 companies from over 30 countries across Europe, Asia, South America, and Africa. Among the companies currently hosted there are the Estonian trade office Enterprise Estonia[3] and the Business Innovation Center, a program of the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO).[4]
