Jimmy Bear Pearson - The One Bear Band (2004–) is a one-man band and recording artist Raleigh, North Carolina who records a fantastic array of genres, primarily focused on guitar, bass, and keyboards. Each tune is hand-crafted one track at a time and multi-tracked to build a cohesive piece. The primary means of musical expression are through instrumentals.

Three distinct types of music have been released on albums to date: Acoustic instrumentals; Rock; and Electronic Instrumentals; and blues/rock/pop mixtures. Each of the tunes generally do not easily fit into a generic genre. Often, the tunes blend genres or blur the lines among many genres. The acoustic instrumentals, for example, are a melodic and peaceful mix of folk, classical, blues, and new age - sometimes delivered in an ambient way. Much of the rock material has its roots in classic rock and classic rock/blues forms. The electronic music is deeply blended electronic sound, rock, blues, and some R&B components.

Jimmy Bear Pearson's music is made in a home studio, often with family members close at hand during the recording process. A great deal of sweat goes into the instrumentation, ambience, recording technique, instrumental voicing, and blends of sounds, timbres, and emotions. All the music is recorded with semi-pro hardware and off-the-shelf music software - captured, mixed, and generated on a Macintosh computer.

Jimmy Bear Pearson is lead singer, guitarist, bassist, keyboardist, (drum loop selector and) drum programmer, and composer. All pieces are original work, and are voicings from the soul.

Future releases include a Jimmy-Bear-style instrumental acoustic Christmas album, a traditional rock album (with lyrics and singing, no less!), and an ambient-flavored electronic instrumental album.
