Ursula Moray Williams

Ursula Moray Williams (born April 19, 1911, Petersfield, Hampshire; died October 17, 2006) was an English children's author of around 70 books. Williams wrote over sixty books, the most notable being the Adventures of the Little Wooden Horse (which she wrote while pregnant) and Gobbolino, the Witch's Cat, which, along with The Good Little Christmas Tree, remained in print throughout her life.

Ursula was the youngest of twin sisters; she was an enthusiastic Girl Guide, later working as an adult with Brownies and writing 2 books for them. Her uncle was the publisher Stanley Unwin. She married Peter John in the mid 1930s and they had four sons together. She and her family moved to Evesham in 1945.[1]
