[edit] Re: Just a request

Hi, I'm glad you asked me and have not started to revert my edits like some new users do. I look forward to good Bleach-related contributions from you. Here are some pointers:

  • Synopsis is just a short summary of what a particular character has done. Currently they are overtly long but we have been trying to trim them. A general rule of thumb is that each battle shouldn't take more than 2-3 lines of text (current some take 2-3 paragraphs!). Always make sure that the synopsis is related to the character in question (e.g. a synopsis on Ichigo is not the same as the summary of the entire events in Bleach).
  • Make sure to write with proper spelling and grammar - proofread before you click Save. Also make sure to study the conventions already established in the Bleach articles - for example: shinigami and not Shinigami or shinigamis or death Gods; final release or final release (bankai) and not bankai or ban kai; zanpakutō and not Zanpakutou, zanpakto, or variations.
  • Avoid speculation on any subject and try to source things which you think may be disputed (WP:CITE).

I hope these will help you on your way to high-quality edits.

P.S. Sorry for not putting this on your user talk when it was written, I accidentally put this whole thing on another page. -- Ynhockey (Talk) 10:18, 22 August 2006 (UTC)

Hi! I noticed your contribution to the Mitsuko Souma article had some spelling errors. Please use the best spelling to your ability :) - If you need to, you can use a spell check program on the paragraphs you type. Also, punctuation and grammar are musts! WhisperToMe 10:53, 11 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Bleach images

I have a couple questions for you about the last couple images you've uploaded, to the Kon and Urahara Kisuke articles. Those being, in the first case is it really helpful and in the second why is it such low quality? We really don't need an image of the cross on the back of Kon's head, imo, since it doesn't demonstrate anything that saying "He has a Quincy cross symbol on the back of his head, added by Ishida. It's blue." doesn't. The Urahara shikai image I understand the usefulness of, but am wondering what version of the anime you are watching that has such low quality. No offense is intended by this, I simply think that we should keep image use to the minimum necessary. --tjstrf 19:44, 21 August 2006 (UTC)

I'm not quite sure how you would like me to explain it but I just watch the episodes uploaded by people on Youtube, they where screen shots I took during the course of the episodes, it was the best quality episodes up although it for some reason looks bad at the end I guess it's just luck, if you would prefer I will keep an eye out for an even better quality episodes to re take the screen shot, or if you can or know somebody who can provide one then feel free to delete and replace it, as for keeping image use to the minimum necessary if that is your opinion then you are completely entitled to it and to express it and I have no problem with that and will keep it in mind.- Urrgh5591, 18:34,22nd August 2006.

[edit] Keiko Onuki/Inoue

In which versions of BR does she have the last name "Inoue"? In the novel she is Onuki. WhisperToMe 15:52, 17 September 2006 (UTC)

She doesn't but that was just the article name at the time even you wrote in a message on this page "I'm adding Keiko Inoue to the list :) WhisperToMe 13:19, 28 July 2006 (UTC)" so i guess it was just a misstake by who ever wrote the article in the first place made?

You checked the manga, right? Henrickson thinks the manga used "Inoue" - On May 19 he changed Keiko Inoue from a redirect to the character article (See http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Keiko_Onuki&diff=53957899&oldid=17490558 ) WhisperToMe 01:55, 23 September 2006 (UTC)

Hey, Urrgh5591, do you own the BR manga? If so, do you know what surname is used in the manga? Henrickson thought it was Inoue... WhisperToMe 02:35, 25 September 2006 (UTC)

Unfortunatly I don't own volume 13 which is the volume in which its most likely revieled :(, but other than that I own them all, if I did have volume 13 I would have expanded the section on Mitsuko Souma's death in the manga ages ago, unfortuantly where I live it becomes hard to find the BR manga after volume 10 so really I can only go with what i've read, sorry about that. Urrgh5591 17:08, 27 September 2006 (UTC)

Hey Urggh, next time, when you write about events that happen in the BR story, please write them in present-tense. I don't know how to handle events that happen before the actual story, so I am keeping them in past tense. Also, try your best to write in proper English; adding run-on sentences and other sentences with grammar mistakes will make Wikipedia look unprofessional. WhisperToMe 23:19, 20 October 2006 (UTC)

A person on the BR boards tells me that Keiko is indeed Keiko Inoue in the English-language BR manga. He doesn't know about the Japanese editions. WhisperToMe 05:06, 25 October 2006 (UTC)

Strange I don't remeber seeing it mentioned, I recently read volume 13 and have now read and own copys of the entire series, I cannot remember seeing it there but I will go back through it and have a look. If I can/cannot find it I will tell you. Urrgh5591 13:59, 25 October 2006 (UTC)

Someone on some Battle Royale forums says that the English-language version of the manga uses "Inoue" - Did you read the Japanese version? WhisperToMe 02:20, 4 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:Battle royale novel map.JPG

Thanks for uploading Image:Battle royale novel map.JPG. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 22:56, 31 May 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Adoption

Hey Matt, I was just dropping by because I noticed you were looking to be adopted! I am offering my services to ya, if you'd like that is. I'm an admin around here, with 13,000+ edits and 18+ months of experience. If you're interested or have any question, don't hesitate to just drop me a line! Jmlk17 05:56, 8 July 2007 (UTC)

Alrighty...let's make it official :). Welcome! A little about me...I'm Jake, a guy from the western US, and I've been pretty active around here for some time now. My main interests are ice hockey, military history, mainly World War Two, and just basically doing administrative backlogs and the like. I can do quite a bit usually, and am more than willing to help you as much as much, as often as you need. The rate of learning or help is entirely up to you if you wish, and I am excited, as you are my first adoptee I have ever had! If you have any questions, or want to just jump right in or anything, you know how to reach me :). Jmlk17 19:10, 9 July 2007 (UTC)

[edit] OR

Hey buddy. I was wondering when you were actually going to need help :). Glad you asked! In response to your question, I took a look at the page, and in particular, the talk page where a fellow editor expressed concerns. The issue is that there are quite a few details about the subject, especially ones that could almost certainly only be included with original research. My best advice would be cut down the section a bit, removing the little things such as what a character is feeling, how they emote, etc. Then find sources (through google, BBS, chat boards, etc), and stick those suckers on in :). I hope this helps even a little bit, but if not, please do not hesitate to let me know, and then we can figure out exactly what we can do to figure it all out! Jmlk17 19:28, 11 August 2007 (UTC)
