Uropeltis rubromaculata is a non-venomous shield tail snake species found in southern India. No subspecies are currently recognized.[2]

Found in southern India in the Western Ghats: Anaimalai Hills and Nilgiri Hills between 1,200 and 1,500 m elevation. The type locality given is "Anamallay forest; 4,000 feet elevation" [South India].[1]
