Urmarsky District

Urmarsky District (Russian: Урмарский райо́н; Chuvash: Вăрмар районĕ) is a district (raion) of the Chuvash Republic, Russia. The district's administrative center, the urban-type settlement of Urmary, is located 77 kilometers (48 mi) from Chuvashia's capital city of Cheboksary. District's area: 598.3 square kilometers (231 sq mi). District's population: 28,189 (2002 Census); 29,868 (1989 Census).
The district was formed on September 5, 1927. It is situated in the north-eastern part of Chuvashia, bordering Kozlovsky District in the north, Tsivilsky District in the north-west, Yantikovsky District in the south, and Kanashsky District in the west.
The Head of the District Administration is Vyachaslav Nikolayevich Kirillov.
