[edit] "American" in the British media
Hi, you snipped In the United Kingdom, the use of 'US' as an adjective is preferred where it can be comfortably used, and is prevalent in media and government house-styles. from the Use of the word American. I have noticed that British papers do tend to say "US" in some cases where an American would use "American", but I'm not going to argue for the restoration of the sentence. It does however occur to me that given the policy on uses of regional English, the long-running argument about US or American is basically moot. An American would never write "Kobe Bryant is a US Basketball player" Sumergocognito 04:51, 17 June 2006 (UTC)
