Urien Wiliam

Urien Wiliam (November 7, 1929October 21, 2006), was a Welsh novelist and dramatist.

He was born in Barry, Wales, the son of Professor Stephen J. Williams, an academic at University of Wales, Swansea. He was an expert in the grammar of the Welsh language, and studied the language at Swansea University before going on to the University of Liverpool to take a doctorate in psychology. His first teaching post was at Trinity College, Carmarthen.

He won the Drama Medal at the National Eisteddfod of Wales in 1972 and 1973. He died at Penarth. After becoming a freelance writer, he produced scripts for the popular Welsh-language children's TV programme, Wil Cwac Cwac.
