Uren (town)

Uren (Russian: Урень) is a town in Nizhny Novgorod Oblast, Russia, located on the right high bank of the Usta River (Volga's basin), 183 km northeast of Nizhny Novgorod. Population: 12,558 (2002 Census); 13,560 (1989 Census).
It was first mentioned in 1719. It was granted urban-type settlement status in 1959 and town status in 1973.
There is a railway station in the town.
