Urchagam (Tamil: )is a Tamil film to be directed by Ravichandiran with the lead pair of Nanda and Sherin. The storyline is based the problems and difficulties between a love marriage and arranged marriage. Both the actors have done well it seems. The movie has been shot in many places like Chennai, ECR, Pondicherry, Goa, Jothpur, etc. About 3 songs were shot in Bangkok and its surroundings. Dinesh Lambha has introduced as villan in this movie. Vivek also play a prominent role it the movie.
Sherin appears in Urchagam after a long break. She plays the lead role against the hero Nanda. Staging a comeback from all her prior debacles, she is ready for her second stint in Kodambakkam. Sherin told us in straight terms, 'hereafter I will not allow any of my personal sentiments or family affiliations to affect my profession.'
Ranjit Barot has scored the music. The audio of the movie was launched on Sunday, 18th April, 2007 at the film chamber amidst a large gathering of viewers, including the VIPs. There are 5 songs in this film, out of which 3 songs were screened. All the songs have been picturised colourfully in the island of Phuket near Bangkok.
Director Ravichandran is back after a brief exile. The director who came up with hits in Kannethire Thondrinal and Majnu, is ready with his next Urchagam. The movie is under the banner G.V. Films Limited who has produced many successful movies like Thalapathi, Nayagan, Agni Natchathram, Anjali and many more. "Coffee Shop" was the title first chosen for this movie but later changed to Urchagam.[1]

The film revolves around Jency (Sherin), who is a close friend of Ganesh (Nandha). When Ganesh decides to open his heart and express his love to her, she informs him that she would be engaged to Nicholas (Dinesh Lamba), who is a rich entrepreneur in London.
Nicholas sponsors for Jency's mother's surgery. Known very well that Nicholas is a jealous and sadistic youth, Jency decides to marry him as a token of gratitude. But life turns miserable for her between her engagement and her wedding. Ganesh steps in and saves her from all troubles. Ganesh and Nicholas cross swords with each other.
