URB is a monthly American magazine devoted to electronic music, hip-hop and urban lifestyle and culture. Based in Los Angeles, California, the magazine was founded in 1990 by Raymond Roker.
URB.com was recently redesigned and launched on April 2nd, 2007. The new site features a daily music and culture news blog, weekly CD and Singles reviews and features from the magazine, as well as an extensive video collection made possible by a partnership with the online video service vimby.com Video In My Backyard.
In April 2007, URB expanded its annual Next 100 issue 10-fold and moved it online for user rating and commenting. The Next 1000 runs until March 2008 and features 20 new emerging bands or artists per week, hand selected by URB's editorial staff and rated by the online community at large.
URB.com distributes a weekly e-zine to over 150,000 subscribers. Users can join the e-zine list on URB's homepage.
URB.com also distributes a monthly podcast, which features artist interviews and exclusive music tracks.
