URBNET Records is an independent record label, mainly known for its roster of Canadian Hip-Hop recording artists and bands. URBNET was formed by Darryl Rodway and Janusz Jarosinski in 1999. The Toronto based label was started to provide distribution, marketing and promotional services to a growing list of unsigned Urban music artists throughout Canada. URBNET was distributed by EMI Music Canada from 2002-2003, Outside Music from 2003-2006 and is presently distributed in Canada by Fontana Distribution (North), a subsidiary of Universal Music Canada. Recently, URBNET has expanded its musical reach with a growing roster of alternative rock artists and groups. The first of these new music signings, include Toronto based Punk/R&B duo The Carps.
