The threshold for inclusion in Wikipedia is verifiability, not truth. "Verifiable" in this context means that any reader should be able to check that material added to Wikipedia has already been published by a reliable source. Editors should provide a reliable source for quotations and for any material that is challenged or is likely to be challenged, or it may be removed. If you put

<ref>Bloggs, Bill (2007) ''Daylight Savings Sucks'', Indiana Publications.</ref>

at the end of a sentence you want to source, then it will put a footnote number there, and add

Bloggs, Bill (2007) Daylight Savings Sucks, Indiana Publications.

to the footnotes.

Note that it is not permitted to draw your own conclusions from your sources; the conclusions themselves must be sourced. So you need to provide a source for "This suggests that the reason for DST extension is not really trick-or-treating; perhaps it is an attempt to extend DST to all year round status." I must be honest, I never actually heard of that blog. I will have to look for it (if it really exists). I got those figures from a straight "sunrise and sunset for every city in America" website that had absolutely no bias one way or the other on DST. The year-round conclusion sounds reasonable enough to me, but if it has to go, I guess it has to go.

It doesn't exist. I made it up as an example of how to document sources. I'm not saying it is or isn't a reasonable conclusion. But Wikipedia doesn't draw conclusions. It reports facts. it reports the conclusions of persons qualified to draw them. But it never reports the conclusions of its editors. Hesperian 02:01, 2 April 2007 (UTC)
