A view of Upnor Castle from the slipway, Upnor, Frindsbury, Kent. It is low tide, and the foreground shows the Medway mud. TO the upper left is the barrack building, and in the centre is the mainbuildind with the main platform in front. That is protected by the palisade. Behind is the Royal Engineer depot, then Lower Upnor with Hoo Common above. Hogarth did his sketch from this point. Taken by ClemRutter, 29 Nov 2006.
