Category talk:Uploader unsure of copyright status

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

According to {{Don't know}}, images tagged as such are subject to deletion within a week. Should there be some language to this effect on the "Category:" page as well? -- Gyrofrog (talk) 03:44, 8 October 2005 (UTC)

There are currently 3000 images in this category. It shouldn't be so large ... dbenbenn | talk 23:01, 26 November 2005 (UTC)
It is flatly not true that images in the category are deleted within a week. I came to this category page from Image:1pgma-oath4 pc.jpg which has belonged to it for just short of a month now, and there are many others; that in turn accounts for why 3000 members of the set. What is needed is a robot to go thru the category every ten days or so and mass-delete everything still belonging to it. Bill 00:20, 12 December 2005 (UTC)

I tried to use a deletion type script before in September, I learned the hard way that it is not a good idea. Plus, should we remove the images from the articles or just delete on sight? User:Zscout370 (Return Fire) Fair use policy 22:11, 18 February 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Add to image tagging

We should add images in this category to Wikipedia:Image tagging this is way too many images to go through within a category, it's much faster in a list. We could keep the cat just for organization, and maybe when there weren't so many it would be useful again, but right now with the backlog I think I am going to suggest these images be added to tagging at the next database dump. - cohesiontalk 18:45, 20 February 2006 (UTC)
