Upen Patel (born August 16, 1980) is a British-Indian model and Bollywood film actor.

Born in England and raised in Brent, United Kingdom, Patel has modeled for brands such as Hugo Boss, Paul Smith, and Zegna. He then appeared in the remix music video of the classic Bollywood song Kya Khoob Lagti Ho which also featured Udita Goswami[1].

In 2006 he made his Bollywood debut in the murder mystery film 36 China Town, where he played a casanova type character who is suspected of murder. The film was a moderate success at the box office. His second film, Namastey London, where he played a supporting role was released on 23 March 2007 and also did well at the box office. Shortly afterwards, his third film Shakalaka Boom Boom was released on 6 April 2007, but did not do as well at the box office as expected and was declared a flop.

He won the prestigious Best Newcomer IIFA (International Indian Film Academy) Award in 2007 at a ceremony at Sheffield's Hallam Arena.

Upen has dated actress Amrita Arora and Indian supermodels Deepika Padukone, Shivani Kapoor , Shamita Singha. He has been a student of Wembley high school. He got his computer science degree from Hertfordshire. His mother is a government lawyer in Britain.

He was offered his first modeling assignment when he was sighted by a photographer in Britain. Then he came to Mumbai (India) where he walked the ramp for the first time in the india-fashion week.
