Up and rising

Up-&-Rising is a alternative music concert which was first held in 2007 at the Point, Cardiff Bay. From then on it has been held annually to promote local talent in the South Wales area.
The name “Up-&-Rising” is based upon the artists which are chosen to perform at the event are on the - Up and Rising.
Since the event started in 2007, it has been organised in conjunction with Radio Glamorgan to raise money for both Radio Glamorgan and Teenage Cancer Trust – Both charities having a direct link with the University Hospital of Wales, Cardiff. The event has attracted a lot of attention from alternative/rock generic bands in the South Wales area who are looking for a chance to perform in front of potential fans.

The 2007 Up-&-Rising event was broadcast live on Radio Glamorgan on Sunday 17th April with an hour highlights show broadcast later in the month. The event was submitted by organiser Jamie Pritchard into the category of 'Special Event' at the National Hospital Broadcasting Association Awards
On Saturday 29th March 2008, At the Queens Hotel in Leeds, The concert was awarded Silver in the category of special event. It was the first piece of national silverware the Radio Station had been awarded in its then 41 year history.
