TV.com summary |
Untold Stories of the E.R. is a reality television show that airs on The Learning Channel.
In this program, real-life emergency-room doctors tell about their most bizarre cases. Usually, the cases either involve medical sabotage, violently or strangely acting patients, life-threatening injuries, or other cases where the E.R. physician is too overwhelmed to handle the caseload and can't transfer responsibility for the patient to someone else.
Often the doctors play themselves, and whenever possible, the patients take part in the reenactment. If they don't appear in the show, they are often interviewed to show the public how they turned out. Occasionally patient's names are changed and actors play their roles. All cases are said to be true however.

[edit] Trivia
- The early episodes had a different opening than the later episodes. When the show went to a commercial in the early episodes would show the title with an ambulance siren wailing in the background. In the later episodes when they went to commercial it would go into kind of like a freeze-frame moment and the title would be shown.
- An episode of the show "Impact: Stories of Survival" had the case of Stephen LoPresti as did this show in the episode "Crushed" but Impact: Stories of Survival showed a dramatization of how Stephen was crushed. He was pretending to lift weights using the drywall and thought it was easy until they slipped and pinned him against the wall and, hands and feet going numb, remained there for twenty minutes.
