Unterseeboot 86 or U-86 was a Type VIIB style Nazi German U-Boat during World War II.

U-86 entered service on May 10, 1941, with a crew of 50, under the command of submarine captain Walter Schug. On its nine active patrols, U-86 saw the following actions: [1][2]
- January 16, 1942: Damaged British ship Toorak, 8,627 tons
- January 18, 1942: Sank Greek ship Dimitrios G Thermiotis, 4,271 tons
- August 7, 1942: Sank the United States ship Wawaloam, 342 ton
- February 25, 1943: U-86 was attacked and damaged by an unidentified aircraft
- March 11, 1943: Sank the Norwegian ship Brant County, 5,001 tons
- November 11, 1943: U-86 was reported missing/lost with all hands, while operating in the North Atlantic
