U-843 was a German world War II Type IXC/40 submarine commissioned on 24 March 1943 and served with 4. Unterseebootsflottille (4th U-Boat Flotilla) for training, with 2. Unterseebootsflottille (2nd U-Boat Flotilla) from 1 November 1943 to 30 September 1944, and with 33. Unterseebootsflottille (33rd U-Boat Flotilla) from 1 October 1944 to 9 April 1944.
U-843 completed 4 patrols and sunk one ship totalling 8,261 gross register tons (GRT). With 33. Unterseebootsflottille U-843 was used to transport Zinc, departing from the Japanese controlled port of Batavia in the Dutch East Indies; however, she never delivered her cargo. U-843 was sunk on 9 April 1945 west of Gothenburg by rockets fired from a Mosquito fighter-bomber of RAF No.248 Squadron. 44 crewmembers were killed 12 survived the attack.
