Unterseeboot 68 was a German Type Mittel U U-boat commissioned and deployed to operate off the coast of the British Isles and attack coastal shipping as part of the First Battle of the Atlantic.
In a five month career, the U-68 was unusually unsuccessful, failing to sink a single allied ship of any description. On the 22 March 1916 she was surprised and sunk by the British Q-ship HMS Farnborough off the Irish coast with all 38 hands. Farnborough was commanded by notorious submarine hunter Gordon Campbell
