U-625 was a German Type VIIC World War II U-Boat commissioned on 2 June 1942. U-625 served with 8. Unterseebootsflottille (8th U-Boat Flotilla), a training unit, 3. Unterseebootsflottille from 1 October to 31 October 1942, 11. Unterseebootsflottille from 1 November 1942 to 31 May 1943, 13. Unterseebootsflottille from 1 June to 31 October 1943, and 1. Unterseebootsflottille from 1 November 1943 to 10 March 1944. U-625 completed nine patrols and sank three ships totalling 18,751 Gross Registered Tonnage or GRT, and sank auxiliary warships totalling 939 GRT. U-625 was sunk with all hands on deck on 10 March 1944 in the North Atlantic off the west coast of Ireland (52° 35' north, 20° 19' west) by depth charges dropped from a Sunderland of the RCAF No.422 Squadron.
