Unterseeboot 56

Unterseeboot 56 or U-56 has been the name of several German submarines or U-boats during the First World War and the Second World War.

  • Unterseeboot 56 (1916) was built in 1916 and operated in the First Battle of the Atlantic during the First World War before gone missing in 1916.
    • During the First World War, Germany also operated two other U-boats with similar designations:
      • Unterseeboot B-56 was built in 1917 and sunk in 1917.
      • Unterseeboot C-56 was built in 1916 and interned in 1918.
