Unterseeboot 3

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Unterseeboot 3 or U-3 has been the name of several German submarines or U-boats during the First World War, the Second World War and in the post-war Bundesmarine (now Deutsche Marine).

  • Unterseeboot 3 (1909) was a German submarine built in 1909 for service in the Kaiserliche Marine. She spent the First World War as a training boat, and was sunk after the war in 1918 on her way to be broken up.
    • During the First World War, Germany also possessed the submarines:
      • Unterseeboot B-3, built in 1915 and lost in the same year.
      • Unterseeboot C-3, built in 1915 and sunk in 1916.
    • The Austro-Hungarian Navy also possessed a Unterseeboot III.
