Unterseeboot 280

Unterseeboot 280 or U-280 was a German World War II Type VIIC submarine commissioned on 13 February 1943. U-280 served with 8. Unterseebootflottille (U-Boat Flotilla) for training and later served with 3. Unterseebootflottille from 1 August 1943 to 16 November 1943. U-280 completed one patrol, but did not sink any ships.

U-280 was sunk on 16 November 1943 with all hands by depth charges dropped by a Liberator of RAF No.49 Squadron southwest of Iceland.
