Unterseeboot 268

Unterseeboot 268 or U-268 was a German World War II Type VIIC submarine commissioned on 29 July 1942. U-268 served with 8. Unterseebootflottille (U-Boat Flotilla) for training and later served with 1. Unterseebootflottille from 1 February 1943 to 19 February 1943. U-268 completed one patrol and sunk one ship totalling 14,547 gross register tons (GRT).

U-268 was sunk with all hands on deck on 19 February 1943 in the Bay of Biscay west of Nantes by depth charges dropped from a Wellington bomber of RAF No.172 Squadron.
