[edit] stub featured?
I'm surprised that such an article would be featured, particularly since it's references are found to be lacking.--134.134.136.2 18:15, 5 March 2007 (UTC)
- The Hook is very poor two, "...that the German submarine U-777 was sunk in October 1944, less than 7 months after being launched?" Given the high rate of U-boat losses from mid-1943 to war's end, many u-boats would have been lost within months. In fact 7-months would have been a long life for a u-bot in 1944. --Bryson 18:35, 5 March 2007 (UTC)

- I'm glad someone is reading these :)

- It is not featured - it is a new article in Did you know. It has about 1,500 characters, so it is eligible. It is a bit stubby, though - feel free to expand it.
-
- I made the references a bit more specific before putting this in DYK - they do verify the information here - and should have removed the {{references}} tag before, an omission I have now corrected.

- Does the hook say it was an unusually long or unusually short life? Perhaps I should add that it did not undertake any patrols. The original suggestion was that the captain went on to command U-3039. -- ALoan (Talk) 18:57, 5 March 2007 (UTC)
- Gunter Ruperti did commmand U-3039 (Type XXI). March 1945 to 3rd May 1945. (He was also promoted to KL) They were his only two U-Boat commands of WWII Mark1800 00:15, 6 March 2007 (UTC)

Can someone make my reference, a reference. It's been so long since I did any editting, I've forgotten how to do it *Embarrassed Smile* Generally what is listed here matches what the references I have say. (I don't have notes on crew, so that has to come from somewhere else.) Mark1800
I edited (from) "sunk" (to) "destoyed" as it really was at dock. Also as it was at dock, it is not clear if it was hit by bombs or falling concrette or whatever. I'm suspision of the exact time of 2002, not many people checked thier watches during an air-raid and no source I have indicates the time. All state "destroyed during the night of 15/16 October 1944" Mark1800 00:11, 6 March 2007 (UTC)
- Hey wat the hell's goin on? It's over 1000 characters, and therefore does not qualify as a stub. It is in fact LONG for u boat articles. Please explain, whoever tagged it. (Bryson probably lol) Anonymous Dissident 05:31, 7 March 2007 (UTC)
- No not me, my only two edits to the page. [1] --Bryson 14:27, 7 March 2007 (UTC)
- Hey dw I was only kidding around. But who was doing this? Anonymous Dissident 21:58, 9 March 2007 (UTC)
- You could check the edit history and compare versions, but I think the best thing is just remove the stub tags, since it is not really a stub. --Bryson 21:59, 9 March 2007 (UTC)
