Unreleased Lennon/McCartney songs

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The following songs are believed to have been written by John Lennon and Paul McCartney, but never officially released by The Beatles.

  • "Just Fun" was performed by Paul McCartney on acoustic guitar during a soundcheck in Zurich in 2004.
  • "Too Bad About Sorrows" was recorded during the Let It Be sessions.
  • "Thinking Of Linking" was recorded in 1994 by Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr, and George Harrison, and was also recorded during the Let It Be sessions.
  • "Pinwheel Twist" was recorded in 1962 while the Beatles were in Hamburg.
  • "Some Days" is an early Lennon/McCartney composition that is available through bootlegs in the form of a crude home recording.
  • "You Must Write Every Day" is another Lennon/McCartney song that falls in the same category as the above.
  • "Carnival Of Light" is a joint effort by all four Beatles, recorded in 1967 for an arts show but has since remained unheard by anyone, including bootleggers.

There are also several improvised instrumental songs with provisional titles based on dialogue heard in the recordings such as "I Don't Need No Cigarette, Boy" and "I Don't Know" which were recorded by Lennon, McCartney and Harrison before they were famous.

Additionally, two more unreleased Lennon/McCartney songs, called "Keep Looking That Way" and "You're In My Little Book", have been mentioned by the surviving members of The Beatles in interviews.[citation needed]
