Are you really sure adding a See also to List of Unix programs is the best way to go? Categories are usually used for that purpose. --maru (talk) contribs 19:21, 20 April 2006 (UTC)

The mere fact that GNU ls happens to look at a file's filename extension to determine the file's type, as well as its Unix file type, if it's coloring its output, and that file looks at the file contents, in addition to the Unix file type, to determine the file's type, does not mean that ls is at all relevant to file. Konqueror also looks at a file's contents to determine its type; does it also belong on the file page? Guy Harris 17:34, 16 May 2006 (UTC)

Great initiative! However.. the "POWER architecture" is obsolete, it's all "Power Architecture" these days. I took the liberty to make a suggestion to a new template to reflect this: Henriok/Template:Power Architecture -- Henriok 22:22, 26 March 2007 (UTC)

I apologize for reverting your edits. As the reversion was some time ago, I don't remember exactly why I reverted your edits. Thanks for the clarifications, much better. I didn't read the section carefully enough, I was focussing on the message format diagram because of the question about flags on the talk page - later it hit me that the last two diagrams were for checksums. I made some minor changes to the section headers for the checksums, if you'd like to check and see if they're clear. I'm a newbie and still learning - obviously, my first lesson is "read carefully before talking" (or RTFM lol). Please let me know if I'm out of line. Ngriffeth 12:57, 14 July 2007 (UTC)

[edit] ICMP needs your help

Dear Unixguy, I can tell by your work at TCP that you know what you're doing. May I ask you to take a look at ICMP, which has a similar section? It reads, in part,

Total Length 
Total Length and the first data byte is the sequence number plus 1. Otherwise if the SYN flag is not present
